GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 232747
additional issues with evolution beta2 in ja_JP.PCK locale
Last modified: 2006-02-09 21:56:19 UTC
Description of Problem: 2 further issues. 1. The mail display window header entries does not get display at all. This includes all the pulldown entries to the left of the mail search text field and the from, subject, date button etc. just below this. 2. In Compose mail subject window, japanese input does not seems to get committed. But commit happens in in the mail search text window and in calender/addressbook etc. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. In Solaris invoke evolution, in ja_JP.PCK locale, click on the mail. 2. When mail comes up the text in the push buttons/pulldown etc. are not seen. 3. Same with a couple of fields in a Compose mail window. 4. For reproducing the other issue bring up a Compose Mail window and click on the subject, Ctrl-space will change the input method to Japanese, enter some characters, after pressing 'Enter' the characters should get committed. Here it does not. Actual Results: Button/Menus without text in'em. Unable commit japanese text to compose mail subject window. Expected Results: Button/Menus with text in'em. Unable to commit japanese text to compose mail subject window. How often does this happen? Always. Additional Information:
The following 2 items are fixed in with the patch for Bug#:31081, which also fixes the gal wigdets display issues in ja_JP.PCK. 2. When mail comes up the text in the push buttons/pulldown etc. are not seen. 3. Same with a couple of fields in a Compose mail window. The gtkhtml bug which causes the japanese not to display in Compose Mail/Mail main window still exists.
any updates on this, guys?
Suresh: Is this problem still reproducible in the last release, i.e. evolution-2.4? Thanks.
