Description brian.finley 2002-04-27 15:43:04 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: 1.0.3
Synopsis: "Wants to receive encrypted mail" button
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook]

Description:
Description of Problem:
Need Evolution to keep track of which contacts need to receive encrypted
email.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Send an email to your business associate.
2. Realize, "Oh, crap! I just sent that unencrypted."
3.

Actual Results:
Potential lawsuits for unauthorized dissemination of client information,
victim of corporate espionage, etc.

Expected Results:
Check button similar to the "Wants to receive HTML mail" button, that
says:
"Wants to receive encrypted mail"

How often does this happen?
Unfortunately, way too often.

Additional Information:
At one point, there was a bug that may really need to be fixed (if it's
not already) if this support is implemented. That bug was that if you
select "Always encrypt to myself when sending encrypted mail", and you
try to send an encrypted mail to an address for which you don't have a
signed key, it fails silently for their encryption, and works for yours.
If this is not fixed, and the above is implemented as a per user, as
opposed to a per email address feature, then this may crop up more
often.
