text wrapping doesn't work on messages re-edited after 'saving to send later'
Last modified: 2002-04-09 22:56:45 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: 1.0.2 Synopsis: text wrapping doesn't work on messages re-edited after 'saving to send later' Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Description: text or word wrapping doesn't work on a message that was started, but which was saved to be sent later, and then re-opened and re-edited. how to reproduce: ------------------- 1) open mssg; add couple of lines of text - enough to wrap to next line. 2) under File - select 'send later.' 3) on my system, this mssg is saved to outbox. 4) re-open mssg to edit it. 5) add more text and word wrap or text wrap doesn't work
the problem here, I'm guessing, is that you are sending mail in text/plain mode. Normally, when you save a Draft - it gets saved as text/html no matter what your sending preferences are so that we can resume right where you left off, formatting wise. Unfortunately, when you edit a text/plain email - we don't know about this formatting stuff so it doesn't work. I'm not sure this is really a bug? I guess it kinda is, but there isn't a way to solve it that I know of :\
okay, so what you really meant to do was hit "Save as Draft" and not "Send Later" becayse "Send Later" puts the message into the outgoing queue (aka Outbox) which means that as soon as you hit Send & Receive, the messgage will be sent. "Save as Draft" is meant to be used if you plan on making changes to the message stuff but need to save it temporarily until you have time to finish it or whatever. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 211579 ***
So I think we should change this to "Save to Outbox" or "Save in Outbox". I will make a patch to this effect just as soon as I can get another ten opinions on which preposition to use. :)
