Description aaron 2001-11-12 18:10:27 UTC
We will need to create startup hints. We can use gnome-hint for this, and
an XML file like panel.hints, and just run thru the hints users get.

Face it. It's the only help docs that users will read.

Sample items (these are real questions we have actually gotten, that are in
the manuals that people have not read):

Basic:
** What is a vFolder? How do I use one? Does a vFolder take up extra space
on my disk?

** What is the "Unmatched" vFolder? (recall, someone deleted all their
mail from here, assuming it was an extra copy)

** How do I use the Trash? (it may seem simple for you, but it's not anything
like a "real" trashcan-- how can things be in two places at once? this is
*not* intuitive)
Assorted items from the FAQ.

** How do I choose a particular port on my server?

** How do I choose a namespace for my IMAP server? (We were flamed on /.
for not providing this functionality-- we do, just not obviously enough,
see bug 215167).

Setting keywords, milestone.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2001-11-26 17:04:27 UTC
Because of the decision to remap 1.1->1.2 and 1.2->1.4, I'm going to be
moving a large number of bugs around in the bugzilla. You can just
search on 'body contains' 'Because of the decision to remap' and mark
all as read. Please direct all questions about this change to
evolution@ximian.com, not the bug.
Luis

Apparently this isn't going to happen.
