Description Dan Winship 2000-12-28 14:07:48 UTC
We should ship a default vfolder of important messages in all folders
Comment 1 Not Zed 2001-02-20 16:23:40 UTC
We should probably include some other defaults, like unmatched, etc.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2001-08-10 17:48:33 UTC
Is it too late to get this in? At the very least, a default
'important' vfolder might serve as a nice example to people looking
for examples of WTF a vfolder actually /is/.
Comment 3 Peter Williams 2001-08-10 18:02:47 UTC
Not at all; all we need to do is edit default_user/vfolders.xml. The
only question, as far as I can tell, is what its sources are; I guess
we have to stick with local/Inbox.

Maybe also ship a vfolder that will pick up the welcome email in the
inbox (Mail From Ximian, eg)? It seems to me like this would be an aid
in comprehension.
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2001-08-17 15:39:04 UTC
Marking as 1.0, mainly to force someone's hand to either decide it has
to be done now or to mark it future.
Comment 5 Luis Villa 2001-08-17 20:24:16 UTC
As a result of the UI freeze today, I'm marking all remaining non-1.0 UI bugs to
'future'. Someone reading this should only change the target back to 1.0 under
the following circumstances:
1) The change would not impact documentation. (i.e., 'how to do X' would not
have to be changed in any way.)
2) The change would require trivial work for the programmers involved. Most
likely, only the programmers themselves are able to judge this. So, if you are
not on the evo team, or cannot provide a patch to them for this, you should
probably not make any such changes.
Sorry that this is going to impact so many irritating bugs, but we have to
prioritize our limited resources.
Comment 6 Not Zed 2001-10-22 04:32:57 UTC
It might be useful to have a 'vfolder' storage config.

One that you could remove and add like other storages, put in
different locations, etc. We could then put some options on it like
which 'default' folders to include (including things like unmatched).

This would require a lot of architectural changes mind you :)

Comment 7 Luis Villa 2001-10-22 04:38:14 UTC
This is a very small spit and polish issue (at least the base bug);
nominating for 1.1 /consideration/.
Comment 8 Luis Villa 2001-11-26 17:03:54 UTC
Because of the decision to remap 1.1->1.2 and 1.2->1.4, I'm going to be
moving a large number of bugs around in the bugzilla. You can just
search on 'body contains' 'Because of the decision to remap' and mark
all as read. Please direct all questions about this change to
evolution@ximian.com, not the bug.
Luis

Fixed.

I added "Important mail" and "Unread mail" vfolders.
