Description nathan collins 2005-03-21 00:56:45 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: gnome-commander
Severity: major
Version: GNOME2.8.3 1.0.x
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: crashes on search with non-existent path
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-commander
Bugzilla-Component: application
Bugzilla-Version: 1.0.x
Description:
Description of Problem:
If you click on search and then enter a non existent path in the
``search in'' field and click search it searches with no result until
you click stop and then it hangs.
Doesn't seem to matter if it's regex of shell style search either.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. click search
2. enter something in ``search for'' field (I used ^.*txt$ for regex and
*txt for shell)
3. enter a non existent dir into the ``search in'' field (I used
/home/nathan/<nonexistent-dir>/

Actual Results:
Program searches indefinitely until you hit stop at which point it
hangs,

Expected Results:
Tell me not to search for things that don't exist I guess.

How often does this happen?
Every time.

Additional Information:
I'm using v1.0.1 on debian sarge. gnome-commander is installed via apt
and I am running ion2 as my window manager.
