Description Stewart Jeacocke 2005-03-14 17:59:59 UTC
Distribution/Version: Debian Sarge

If the GCONF key /apps/metacity/general/disable_workarounds=TRUE then nautilus
windows forget their placement on the screen (though not their size). Doesn't
this suggest that nautilus is breaking some specification? For more info see

Thanks for your bug report!
I can still reproduce this with a recent Nautilus version.

The real window state voodoo takes place in
eel_gtk_window_[gs]et_initial_geometry(_from_string)?
Maybe this is an eel issue...

Spatial is no more.
