Steps to reproduce:
0) Move location entry to main toolbar with toolbar editor
1) window so narrow that the location entry disappears
1) Ctrl-N
2) Ctrl-L in the new window
3) Type away

Result: lots of

Fixed in gnome-2-10 and HEAD.

The fix wasn't right, backed out.

This is trickier than it seems; there's no way to prevent an item to be
overflown; and detecting IF an item is overflown isn't possible either (consider
the case that the toolbar has never been shown, i.e. realized before).

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you.

Can you please check again if the issue you reported here still happens in a recent version and update this report by adding a comment and adjusting the 'Version' field?
