GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 169925
losing internet connection hangs rhythmbox
Last modified: 2005-05-09 19:46:15 UTC
Please describe the problem: While I was listening to my favorite internet radio station I ran into the 24h-disconnect German ISP usually impose on their customers. As expected, rhythmbox stopped playing because the stream broke off. However, I couldn't select a song from the library instead, it didn't seem to react to mouseclicks. Also rhythmbox didn't let itself be closed, I had to kill it from a terminal where I also saw it was using 99% CPU time. Killing rhythmbox is a p.i.t.a. when one couldn't exit it cleanly before because the whole music library has to be rebuilt... Steps to reproduce: 1. Tune in to your favorite internet radio station 2. Drop the internet connection (however that is done...) Actual results: The music stops, but also rhythmbox stops reacting to mouse clicks. Expected results: The music stops, and I can select a song from the library in the meantime. Does this happen every time? unknown Other information: Rhythmbox runs on a computer behind a router, which loses the internet connection every 24 hours.
I've noticed this myself, can confirm this on ubuntu with gnome2.10 rythmbox 0.8.8
