GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 168077
photolist export
Last modified: 2015-12-18 17:01:40 UTC
I would like to see an export of the list from my photos (catalogue's) in a separade file like a spreadsheet (gnumeric?) or textfile. I meant the following possible rows, perhaps: number of the photo | name of the photo (maybe with a link/target, URI) | name of the catalogue | comment from the photo | date and time of photo-creation (EXIF?) | resolution | color or bw photo | camera (EXIF?) | rating (stars 1-5) This will help for browsing and organising a large photo-collection on a CD.
Maybe this feature can be added to the "Create Index Image" function (or change it to a "Create Index" menu entry), so that it export to: Image and HTML (already exist) and plus Plain Text, Spreadsheet, Rich Text, etc..
Implementing the text export as CSV (Comma seperated values) would give you both Text format and a format easily used by Spreadsheet software (if you were really sneaky you could rename the .csv file to .xls and most users wouldn't notice the difference as most spreadsheet programs are smart enough to import it automatically). Most program should be able to deal with CSV, and once that was provided the rest could be done by other programs. Seems like a reasonable enough request but of course a lot depends on if there is a developer interestd enough to implement it.
Marking as obsolete, as this was reported for a now-unsupported version and no recent activity has occurred. Please feel free to reopen this bug report if the problem still occurs with a current version of gThumb.
