GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 165279
Crash with segfault SIGSEGV when closing all windows prior to the end of all downloads
Last modified: 2011-02-14 13:05:40 UTC
Hi, I crash Galeon when I close all Galeon windows except a download window and the download finishes. For example you're downloading a 10 MB file, the download progress updates, you close all Galeon windows, and you wait for the download to finish. When the download finishes, I get a segfault. Here's the backtrace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

I don't know Mozilla at all, but I understand this is deep in a Mozilla library and I'll have to rebuild Mozilla from CVS with debugging symbols. I think "nemo" claimed on IRC to get a similar bug. I don't have time to look into this in the next days, so feel free to search the bug. I'll try to build my debug-mozilla environment asap!
Thanks for the bug report. This matches the stack trace in bug 151955, which is an epiphany bug report. That was marked as a duplicate of bug 151037, which Christian and Marco says is a Mozilla bug (in particular that it's http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236688). So I'm going to mark this as NOTGNOME.
FYI, Christian Perch sent a patch upstream, see also bug 151037.
The mozilla patch is just against the TestGtkEmbed application, so it looks like we need to apply a similar patch to Galeon. See http://mail.gnome.org/archives/cvs-commits-list/2005-June/msg01924.html
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. Galeon developers won't be fixing or back porting any fixes for this version. Please upgrade to latest stable Galeon version to receive bug fixes. We are sorry it could not be fixed for your version.
