Description Sami Laitinen 2005-01-11 13:14:44 UTC
When I write a blog entry using gnome-blog all scandinavian letters (öäå) are
converted to nonsense like ö, ä and å. Every time I add a blog entry, I have
to go manually fix those letters. I'm using utf-8 locale, the blog web page
(blogspot) encoding is set to utf-8 and my browser (firefox) is set to
automagically find the correct character encoding for webpages.

People from bugs.gentoo.org asked me to file this bug here.

I'd like to resolve this issue, but I have no idea what's going wrong. Maybe the
problem is that python doesn't use UTF-8 strings by default? If somebody can
provide me with pointers on how to address this, it would be very helpful.

OK, I *think* I fixed this, but I can't tell for sure because I don't know how
to test it definitively. Can you pull from CVS and see if it works now?

Using v0.08 I tried some weird characters from different norvegian-like, german
and french langages, it seems to work !

Tried building from cvs, still the same results. Also tried the 0.8 release and
no change.
Comment 5 Olav Vitters 2006-07-03 12:49:35 UTC
Can you try with 0.9.1?
