Description j.gnome 2005-01-09 03:25:27 UTC
1. New workbook
2. Type "abaa" in A1
3. Make "b" red (enter)
4. Select A1, Press F2, backspace (why is "a" selected?), enter
5. Select A1, Press F2, enter

No more red.

This might have something to do with 162961, but I thought it's different enough
to deserve a new bug.

Confirmed. ("a" is selected because it is the result of auto-completion.)
Comment 3 j.gnome 2005-01-09 19:46:05 UTC
Yes, but what is it auto-completing? There isn't another "abaa" there.

The problem seems to be that if you put anything in the first row (A1, B1, C1
etc.) and delete the last character with the backspace, it tries to
auto-complete even if it shouldn't. Why? If you try to reproduce this bug in A2,
it doesn't try to auto-complete, and it doesn't discard the red color either.

I also think that auto-completing when deleting text is a bug, it should only
happen when inserting text. But that's another bug.
Comment 4 j.gnome 2005-01-09 22:05:28 UTC
That should have been "type anything in the first row (A1, B1, C1 etc.), press
enter, up, F2 and delete the last character with the backspace". It doesn't
auto-complete without pressing enter (strange).

Also, if A1 has "abaa" (like in the attached file) and you try to reproduce this
bug in A2, the bug appears (because now the auto-completion feature sees the
"abaa" in A1). B2 however doesn't auto-complete or discard the color.
Comment 5 Morten Welinder 2005-01-10 00:10:20 UTC
It's autocompleting itself. Probably a dubious feature, :-)
Comment 6 Morten Welinder 2005-01-10 15:21:59 UTC
Fixed in cvs.
