GIMP 2.2.0-i586 on Windows (no help files), with GTK+2.4.14, as downloaded
24/12/2004

Attempted to open a CPT (Corel photopaint) file 

Warning(recursed) couldn't load ms sans serif 7  falling back to sans 7 aborting...

Runtime error! Program c:\program files\gimp2.2\bin\gimp-2.2.exe abnormal
program termination

GIMP crashes (any windows which were open disappear)

Interesting. afaik the GIMP doesn't support the PhotoPaint format, so I wonder
what it tries to load instead.

This warning can be caused be anything that tries to display text - even another
warning.

Is this something you need more details of the system it's running on, or can
anybody reproduce the problem on different systems?

Well, we definitely need more details. At the moment we don't even know how to
reproduce the problem.

Looks like a duplicate of bug #163740 which is actually just a symptom of bug
#112401.
