Description marc.saric 2004-12-22 10:07:13 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 3 (Heidelberg)
Package: nautilus
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.8.0 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: nautilus crash upon sftp copy operation
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: File and Folder Operations
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.8.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:

nautilus crash upon sftp copy operation from a remote computer to the
local computer

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Connect to a remote linux computer via sftp (File/Connect to
Server...)
2. Select an arbitrary large directory (several thousands of files)
3. Copy to the local machine

Expected Results:

Copy via sftp should work reliable and without crashing.

How often does this happen?

Always with large amount of files. Small amounts (several 100 files) are
not a problem.

Additional Information:

Copying was from SuSE 9.0/9.1 systems to a FC3-box over a reliable
switched 100 MBit LAN (no network errors, connection-problems can be
responsible for this crash). This bug makes sftp-connection via nautilus
unusable.

Debugging Information:

Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/nautilus'
