GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 161760
Create Archive from Nautilus not working
Last modified: 2005-02-02 00:28:05 UTC
Please describe the problem: In a Folder, I select a number of files and Go to Edit Menu and Select Create Archive...Nothing Happens, Right click on the selected File and choose create Archive, still nothing comes up. This is a bug! Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Nautilus. Go to any Directory. 2. Select Files in the Directory. 3. Go to Edit Menu and Select Create Archive.( Nothing Happens!!!) Related: 4. Right Click on the Nautilus Window and select Create Archive. ( Nothing Happens) Actual results: Expected results: File Archive should be created, by File Roller Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=8251&page=2 <snip> Problem 7 (semi-annoying): File-roller does not work. No, Nautilus does not work, when I select a few files, right-click and choose "Create Archive". Nothing happens. I didn't find this bug on bugzilla, I guess I'll file it later. Workaround is easy: just open File-Roller to create an archive instead of using the broken Nautilus-function. </snip>
