GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 160927
File Chooser should allow user to, delete, rename, copy, and paste files.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
At a minimum, it would be nice if the file chooser allowed the user to rename and delete file from within the file chooser. I do not believe that such a thing would add too much complexity to it. Perhaps a user could right-click on a file in the list and receive a context menu that would allow such operations. Furthermore, and though I admit that this might be a bit more complex, it would be nice if the file chooser allowed the user to copy, cut, and paste files as to paste them into Nautilus or into another directory. It seems probable that some may complain that these changes make the file chooser too complex; but quite frankly, I believe that it will, despite its nice appearance, be a bit antiquated until such changes occur. I cannot tell you how much I yearn for such a feature.
We may consider including a contributed patch for this, but this is really out of the scope of the file chooser's functionality. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 144314 ***
