non-C locale (ie: fr_FR@euro, fr_FR.UTF-8, de_DE@euro, ..):

you aren not using a version of GLib from cvs, do you?

no, but I'm using a glib 2.5.7. BTW the bug is fixed with the current GNOME CVS
so probably this glib bug.
