GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 160128
Nautilus freeze while resizing
Last modified: 2005-10-03 12:40:02 UTC
Since introduction of space mode in gnome 2.6, I have random freeze while resizing windows. It happens on different folders, and without concurrent modifications (file deletion, ...) in the folder. Nautilus doesn't crash, it freezes. I'm obliged to kill the nautilus process to restart it.
The bug occured again. It's very ennoying
do you still get the issue ? could you attach nautilus with gdb while getting the issue and get a backtrace with "thread apply all bt" ?
I happen from time to time. I will try to get a backtrace next time I encounter this issue.
I just catch the bug (again), please find the backtrace below. I hope it is ok for you

Any help how to solve this issue ?
Hello, There is any news ofr this bug ?
no dup apparently and for my part no idea on the bug ...
Yep, I could reproduce it with head. The layout code goes into an eternal redo_layout loop with certain window sizes when compact layout is enabled.
Martin: Were you able to track down the precise loop conditions?
Hrm this is actually a dup of bug 129963.
