When a device is listed with a name other then the one in block.device, then it
is not mounted successfully. Examples of this are people with /dev/cdrom in
/etc/fstab where /dev/cdrom is a symlink to /dev/hdc

The patch searches fstab for the device name to use as mount argument. It has
been in the debian package for some time now
