GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 155502
workspace switcher looks wrong when dragging a window off bottom of screen
Last modified: 2006-02-18 16:14:41 UTC
This is trivial, but I figure the devels of this cool panel applet will want to know Gnome 2.6 Debian Sid Kernel 2.6.6 Metacity Window Manager 1) grab any window at the top 2) drag it off the bottom of the screen (so only the top of the window is showing 3) watch the selected workspace become bigger in the switcher applet
Confirmed.
I don't seem to be able to see this. I do, however, see the window being drawn beyond the bottom of the workspace (and below the bottom of other workspaces). Am I doing something wrong to trigger this, or is Gnome 2.8 different than Gnome 2.6 in this respect?
No, I thought that when the reporter said "the workspace becomes bigger" that was what he meant... The window dragged off the bottom of the screen kind of expands below the limits of the workspace switcher.
Same as bug 134646?
Further information. This only happens when the panel is at the top of the screen. The applet works fine when it attached to a panel at the bottom of the screen. Add step: 0.5) move panel to top of screen. It doesn't seem to matter if the switcher applet is 2 rows or one, with 6 or 4 desktops.
No, there are still problems when there's a panel at the bottom of the screen--they're just not as bad as when there's no panel.
Moving to right component. Sorry for the spam.
I can see the workspace becoming bigger too using two lines in my workspace switcher. It's a nice bug :-)
