1) setup and nfs mount in fstab (eg. "some.server:/home/user /mnt/server nfs
defaults,users 0 0") 
2) login to gnome
3) open "computer" with nautilus
4) the nfs volume is not there, and neither on the desktop

I get the same symptom on all three computers on my home network.

Same here.  Disappeared during the upgrade from 2.6 to 2.8.

Thanks for your bug report. This is most probably a gnome-vfs issue. Can you
still reproduce this with GNOME 2.10?
