GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 153228
unable to open folders in browser mode after changing folders' open action
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Please describe the problem: I am unable to open any folders in Nautilus after changing the 'Open with...' action for folders. I had been attempting to open a folder in a terminal and was able to do so using 'Open with...'. However after doing this I was unable to open folders from within Nautilus. Removing the open with terminal from the menu had no effect other than to show an error message saying that "there is no action for folders". Steps to reproduce: 1. Choose 'open with...' on a folder in nautilus 2. Choose a program, eg gnome-terminal 3. Remove the program from the list of actions for folders 4. Try to open a folder in nautilus Actual results: An error message is displayed saying there is no action for folders. Expected results: The folder should be opened inside nautilus. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Note this is a problem for browser mode, if you add Nautilus itself as an action for folders then you can open folders but in a separate window.
This is the same as bug #141466 and has also been reported in the mailing lists, see http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-list/2004-May/msg00089.html for details.
