Description Stephane Loeuillet 2004-09-08 12:07:34 UTC
when we fill a bug, there is a field called "Distribution/Version" on the right
of "Operating System"

i often fill it but it seems it is not necessary because it is never displayed
anymore. (Gentoo x86)

one of my bugs was closed NOTGNOME early because someone thought i was using
Fedora Core (and it looked like a RedHat specific bug)
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152053

and don't know if this kind of problem is frequent but displayind this field
somewhere could help to prevent such issues.

Yeah, this sucks. We need to remove those fields from the submit page, or take
the text from them and put them inline in the report. (There were too many
boxes already, and most people weren't using those fields so we just removed them)

If version details and/or os details are provided, these will be added to the
initial comment (as discussed on bugmaster on 26 Jan 2005). See test bug 166377
for how it will look like.
The template I've modified is:
template/en/default/bug/create/comment.txt.tmpl

Note that Bugzilla removes leading spaces/enters, so it will still look ok when
no details are provided.

Awesome, thanks for fixing bugs that I created, Olav!
