GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 150893
Strange messages in gnome-applets gkb
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
#: gkb-new/descs/SK__x.keyprop.desktop.in.h:1 msgid " keymap" #: gkb-new/descs/SK__x.keyprop.desktop.in.h:2 msgid "***FIXME***" These messages look strange. Please note that there is currently a string freeze, so messages may not be altered without permission. They can be removed though without permission.
I'm not sure how to resolve this bug. If I mark them as non-translatable then those strings will appear in GNOME (they're going to appear in GNOME for C/en_US users anyway, however those users will probably never look for this keymap). My gut instinct says either to fix it (I don't know what they're meant to be) or to leave them translatable to that whichever language they belong to can at least fix it for their translation. I'm CCing svu so he can tell us what these values are meant to be.
From the desktop.in file, I'd say it should be "Slovak" instead of "**FIXME**". So I would commit this fix. But we are in the string freeze. But there is already "Slovak" in the gnome-applets.pot. Can I commit?
Sure, if you change it to the exact string "Slovak" it's not a problem, since as you say that exact string is already translated elsewhere.
If you can do it without adding any new strings, that's fine by me.
Done.
