Description Marcin Krzyzanowski 2004-08-09 18:40:17 UTC
Hi.

After I upgrade metacity to metacity-2.8.2-1 I realized that sometimes when I
launch something for ex. with gnome-panel, new window open in back not in from
of my desktop. Like now.. I have opened few gnome-terminals, epiphany, and if I
launch gnome-terminal I don't see it because it going to back.

I attache screenshots before and after.

Thanks for the bug report, but this has already been reported to Gnome bugzilla.
The problem is that applications that tell already running instances of
themselves to open a new window need to forward the startup notification
timestamp. There's a patch in bug 149276 that disables the
focus-stealing-prevention logic if it bothers you too much while we work on
fixing all the apps.
