Description gnome.org 2004-08-02 20:31:28 UTC
Right click on desktop, choose Create Folder. A new folder is created, and
focus switches to the new folder icon with all text high-lighted for editing.
Without changing the text, create another folder. The text is not highlighted.

From an open nautilus window, create a new folder (using mouse or Ctrl-Shift-N).
The text is not highlighted for editing.

I would expect that any time the user creates a folder that they would want to
change the name from "untitled folder" and that the system by default would
facilitate that as it does in the case of creating a new folder on the desktop
if there isn't already a folder called "untitled folder".

For me from creating a folder from within Nautilus is behaves the same as the
desktop description (highlights for 'untitled folder', not for 'untitled folder
1'). Matches bug 140188, duping.

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into
our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

Only in icon view, not list view
