Description Cyryl 2004-08-01 08:46:06 UTC
I'd like to see the option that fits picture to
screen's width. For example, my monitor is at 800x600
and the pic is 1200x800 - when the "fit width" zoom
is chosen picture should be scaled to 900x600. That
would allow minimum scrolling with maximum picture
size.

I would like to see this option on the toolbar as it exists in the Gnome PDF
Viewer. It is neccesary for reading scanned text documents or other images where
you need maximum size and viewability.

The GIMP has "Fit Image in Window" and "Fit Image to Window" options. The former is the usual "Fit" zoom and the later is the "Fit to width"/"Fit to height".
Comment 4 Michael Chudobiak 2006-11-23 14:58:36 UTC
I have added this feature to CVS HEAD (2.9.0).

Also, I have requested that gtk add a zoom-to-width stock icon. See bug 378499. The icons that I added match the default gtk theme, but not other themes (like bluecurve, for example), which is a minor annoyance.
