Description:
Description of the crash:
panel got wrecked when the mouse pointer focused on preference menu.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. start GNOME (by ?DMs or startx)
2. click on GNOME start(Program?) menu.
3. climb down to Preference menu.

Expected Results:
"suddenly the gnome panel has died." [Restart] [Close] [Send to
developer]
such dialog is invoked. and if click on [Restart] button, following
dialog is displayed:
"gnome_panel is already running. so now finishing." floated continuously
whenever I click on the [OK or Confirm]button.

How often does this happen?
everytime. when I live in GNOME.

Additional Information:
lately I updated my Debian GNU/Linux box. I use sid, the unstable
distro.

Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful in
determining the cause of the crash.  Please make sure that the package was
compiled with debugging symbols and see

stack traces.
