Description Sebastien Bacher 2004-06-14 10:26:44 UTC
This bug has been forwarded in the Debian BTS: http://bugs.debian.org/253346

"It would be nice to have a contextual menu to rename/delete files or
directories in the file selector."

Sorry, this is part of what made the old file selector look cluttered. You can
use the file manager for that.

The contextual menu doesn't clutter the window for novice users. It's something
one opens only when wanting to do something less common, in a "Can't find the
feature from the main UI, let's try the context menu as a last resort." situation.

Also: renaming can very much be seen as an "undo" feature. Let's say -- as I
just did -- I click "Create Folder", type something, press TAB to see if it
would autocomplete, find out it doesn't but instead goes ahead and creates the
directory right away. Now I have a directory and I can't rename it or get rid of
it. And there is no undo button.

Now, an "undo" button would be awesome, but perhaps on a tough side :) In
absence of it, "rename" and "delete" should exist.
