When using gedit to view the output earlier written to file of other programs
the revert option doesn't work very sensible.
- When the file is readonly the option should still be available, now it is
greyed out. But the original file is changed.
- The popup is only annoying when the file is not changed.

wow, I cannot believe this one fell through the cracks and was left here untouched so long. Sorry about that.

The first point you mention is fixed for a long time now.

The second one I am not sure about... even if currently the file is not modified, by reverting you lose all the undo history.
