Description Sebastien Bacher 2004-06-06 19:33:19 UTC
This bug has been reported in the Debian BTS: http://bugs.debian.org/250837

"In the 'file' menu, gedit shows the last few files you've edited. If
you open a file however, this list disappears. Creating a new window (by
opening a second file and moving it to a new window using the right
mouse button menu e.g.) makes the list appear again in both windows.
Opening a file makes it disappear again in both windows."

Same problem here. Just select a file in the recent list to reproduce the problem

I get this problem as well. Here's what gedit prints to the terminal after
opening a recent files entry:

** (gedit:3201): WARNING **: Failed to lock: Resource temporarily unavailable
Comment 2 Pedro Corte-Real 2004-06-20 17:56:47 UTC
I removed ~/.recently-used and this appears to have gone away.

bug #135452 is another symptom of the same problem, I'm marking as dup and
adding a note there about the fact that the list disappears
