Description Mark Nelson 2004-05-02 23:26:40 UTC
It would be nice if there were an option in the Chart preferences to specify the
exact size a chart should be in pixels. This would be especially useful when
saving the chart as an image.

I've not worked on gnumeric before, but I'll see if I can submit a patch once
school is over with (after may 15th).

Thanks!

Chaing title to match comments.

Re saving to image, the time to specify pixel size is when saving. There
really isn't any good reason one couldn't make a 600x400 and a 900x600
image file from the same graph.

Hi,

It's true that you may want to make an arbitrary size image from the graph, but
is it not also true that you may want to specify the exact size that the graph
should be in gnumeric itself (rather than simply draging the corners to get the
aproximate size)? There may be other reasons to want the graph to be an exact
pixel size beside exporting images.

With current CVS version, there's a tooltip when you resize an object, which
gives you its size in pixel and points.

Will be in gnumeric 1.3.2.

You can specify resolution of exported image now.
