GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 138983
gtranslator copy spaces as points
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Distribution: Gentoo Base System version 1.4.3.13 Package: gtranslator Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.6. unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Gentoo Linux Synopsis: gtranslator copy spaces as points Bugzilla-Product: gtranslator Bugzilla-Component: Generally bug'd Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Description of Problem: In gtranslator you may set to use a special character (I think it's a dot) in stead of a space. However, if I copy some of that text and then paste it again, those special spaces are copied as plain dots. This is a dangerous thing. The pasted text should show the spaces as dots, but in the actual po file, they should be spaces, not dots. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Copy some text with spaces shown as dots 2. Paste it in the translated text area 3. Save the file, compile it as a mo, and then look at the text in the application's widget. Actual Results: Anoying dots appers in translated strings. Expected Results: Those dots should have been spaces. How often does this happen? Every time.
