Description Gary Marshall 2004-03-29 11:38:20 UTC
It would be really neat if GIMP 2.0 has a version of gimp-win-remote (that comes
with the GIMP 1.2.5).
Comment 1 Gary Marshall 2004-03-29 12:56:59 UTC
OK. I thought it actually worked that way already, but actually the original
gimp-win-remote will open files with GIMP 2.0 if it's already open, but won't
launch GIMP 2.0 if it's not. Opening files with gimp-2.0 starts a new instance
of GIMP 2.0.

So what would be nice is a version of the gimp-win-remote that will open files
using GIMP 2 instead of GIMP 1.
Comment 2 Sven Neumann 2004-03-29 14:14:46 UTC
gimp-win-remote is not part of the GIMP source tree. It's an addition of whoever
packaged your GIMP binary. So you should ask the packager about this.

For GIMP 2.2 we would like to redo gimp-remote or integrate it's functionality
into the gimp binary. This rewrite should be done in a portable way. See bug #52866.
