Description Brian Lee 2004-03-28 08:27:53 UTC
Prereq:
You must be running windows xp and you have have a font called profont installed
to reproduce the error.
Steps:
Install Jernej Simoncic's binaries for GTK+ 2 v2.2.4-20040124
and The GIMP 2.0.0 on Windows XP SP1, after first uninstalling
WinGIMP's binaries for an earlier GTK+ 2 and The GIMP 1.2.4.

The GIMP Startup window will now repeatedly freeze on fonts and not respond with
the following message in the console:
(gimp-2.0.exe:3272): Glib-CRITICAL **: file gconvert.c: line 498
(g_convert): assertion 'str != NULL' failed

The only current solution is to edit the .fonts.cache-1 file located in the
\Documents and Settings\<user name>\ folder. All references to profont must be
deleted.
