Description of Problem:
If you have a semi transparent background on gnome-terminal and use it
to ssh to another box, where irssi is running within a screen it gives
problems with refreshing the window. After a while the entire window
becomes blue and new text  will appear, but the update is buggered.
With solid background it doesn't seem to be a problem

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open a gnome-terminal with transparent background
2. ssh to a machine with screen and irssi installed
3. start screen and irssi

Actual Results:
update errors; blue screens ;)

Expected Results:
normal irssi session with nice transparent background

How often does this happen?
if you wait long enough all the time, mostly within 5 minutes
