The AM_GCONF_SOURCE_2 macro used in the configure script defines the 
--with-gconf-schema-file-dir option to specify where .schemas files 
should be installed.  Even though, the schemas/Makefile.am file does not 
honour the value provided by it, but it should.

The patch is applied in CVS HEAD and will be available in mlview 0.6.3.
I leave the bug open until the release.
