GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 133353
"Tool Call" in toolbox docs should be changed
Last modified: 2004-02-10 20:54:29 UTC
The section about "Tool Call" should be renamed to something else. From what I know the "Tool Call" is the wrong wording for selecting the tool in different ways. The words Tool Call also makes it hard to translate to something usable and understandable. Some suggestions are: "Activate the Tool" "Selecting the Tool" Any other suggestions? Any other comments about the "Tool Call" section?
Since the word "call" gets used so much with code, why not something more like real life tools and call it "Load Tool" or "Reload Tool" if it fits.
I would, like you scizzo suggest: "Tool activation", because the manual will telling the user, how i can activate the tool. Well, the problem about this is, that we need maybe a more general way how we describe the activation of a dialog, tool or plugin. Maybe only "Activation" is what we want?
How's the state of this report? It seems a good alternative has been suggested; will this change be accepted for inclusion in CVS?
Well I still think that doing a "Activating Tool" would be good here. To use the same sentence for "plugins" would be "Activate Plugin" and so on. Using "Activation" only might confuse a little.
Sorry...I ment "Activate Tool" and "Activate Plugin"
I'll change 'Tool call' to 'Activate tool' (etc) as soon as possible.
Fixed in CVS; 2004-02-10 Roman Joost <roman@bromeco.de> * src/toolbox/tool-*.xml: changed 'Tool call' to 'Activate Tool', which fixes bug #133353.
