Allow Planner tasks and lags to have minute and second resolutions (missions and campaigns idea)
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When you use planner (as well as all other project planners ) the tasks and other inputs e.g lags, usually work in weeks, days or hour resolutions. It would be good to allow for special projects (which I call missions) that are simply on a smaller time scale than projects i.e. minutes or second resolutions. Where do you use these you may ask ? Simple ! Anything from, - Planning parties (7pm people start to arrive etc etc...), - Planning trade shows (show open, product demos every 15 minutes etc), - Planning presentations (especially multi-speakers with 5 minute talk - slots, - Planning a school day-trips (08:00 bus arrives, 08:15 bus leaves etc...) Nothing really is different from a project EXCEPT that Planner should assume hours instead of weeks, minutes instead of days and seconds instead of minutes. Could even work the other way too with say a concept of Campaigns where it defaults to Months, Weeks and Days as the main time periods. That could be useful if say you're planning ... - Your School year or degree, - A brand awareness campaign, - Documenting a historical reenactment of a military campaign, Thoughts ? I feel it would be a nice enhancement thats would not be too hard to implement.
