GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 130824
gthumb does not complain about lack of permissions
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
gthumb 2.1.8 does not complain visibly about not having permission to save a file while trying to save a jpeg image after a lossless rotation. Howevever, if gthumb is run from the command line, a permissions error is given. For example, a root owned directory, which is not world writable can be viewed, but saving does not work. Confusingly, the gthumb user is never told.
Same for latest gthumb v2.2.0
Also in gthumb 2.3.0.
I think it deserves severity "normal" raher than major.
The reason I chose "major" was that it is a security bug. I could find no "security" severity :/
Fixed in CVS.
