GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 130540
Set an emblem on downloaded/ing files
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I am not sure if this is possible. If not, then sorry for the spam. (It should be though) Using the new way to download in epiphany (which totally rocks!), I think it would be a good idea if a 'Downloading' emblem was put on downloading files. This can really help as currently if one is doing a long download of a file, and forgets that he is downloading the file, he can accidentally open a part-downloaded file. Maybe instead the file should be hidden (have a . in front) till it finished downloading? Also to help users notice newly downloaded files, especially on messy desktop, maybe have an emblem for newly downloaded files as well?
This is currently not doable from epiphany in a sane way, but I agree it's a good idea. I've been told that metadata handling could be moved to gnome-vfs in the future, plus some API to use it of course, so hopefully we'll be able to do it in the future.
broadly marking this a dupe of bug 113444 which requests that we set a custom icon. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 113444 ***
