Description mnewman 2003-12-16 21:56:10 UTC
Package: nautilus
Severity: major
Version: 2.2.1
Synopsis: Crashes when copying from windows machine
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: File and Folder Operations
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.2.0.1)

Description:
Description of Problem:

Crashes after security error. Takes down entire desk top which then
restarts. Other desktops not effected.

I have opened and browsed to a directory on a windows machine. I copy a
file sucessfully. I come back 10 to 20 min later and try to copy another
file. I think I get a security violation, possibly because some form of
access has expired. Then I get a crash reporing that Nautilus has
crashed and offering me this bug report.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. use network servers to find a windows machine. open a directory and
copy a file to the Linux machine. Leave both windows open.
2. Wait 10 to 20 minutes.
3. Try to copy the same file a second time.

Actual Results:

Crash offers bug report option then restarts the desktop.

Expected Results:

Correct copy of the file, possibly a request for user and password
again. Worst case an error message.

How often does this happen?

It is repeatable.
