I think you are running v4.3.28 and this is now fixed.
See the comments in the bug report that I'm closing this
against.

Rich: This probably doesn't matter, but just FYI -- 'gcalctool
--version' returns 'Gnome gcalctool 4.3.3' on Fedora.

Wow. That's wierd because I didn't add the remove_tsep()
routine until v4.3.28. The Help->About popup for gcalctool
ready says v4.3.3? Strange.
