Description john s 2003-11-29 17:22:01 UTC
Using gthumb in openbox3, program launches successfully. However, in the file browser, no
images are listed, no thumbnails are shown, and (of course) no images are displayed. The 3
panes are enabled and visible. Everything else seems to work properly, but gthumb doesn't
recognize any image files.

I have gone through all the options in gthumb itself. I have also used gconf-editor to ensure that
everything is enabled.

Have you got shared-mime-info (from freedesktop.org) installed?
Comment 2 Chuck R. Bell 2004-10-20 16:07:53 UTC
I am having the same problem with gthumb-2.6.0, and yes, shared-mime-info is
installed. It just says 'No image' no matter what directory I am in or what kind
of image is present.

Ok, I got Gthumb to work by using the following command:

update-mime-database /usr/share/mime

Hope this helps someone else.

This seems to have been due to an outdated mime database on the user's computer (rather than a gthumb bug), so I'm closing the bug.
