Description matthew arnison 2003-11-03 21:14:36 UTC
Hi,

I like to use the keyboard as much as I can, and generally that is pretty
convenient in Galeon 1.2.x (Galeon 1.3.x is getting there, but it's still
not as good for me, yet :).

Anyway, oftentimes I want to page down or search within the main web page
pane of the window. The annoying thing is there's no reliable way to focus
the main window short of clicking it with the mouse. Tab will cycle through
but you're never sure if you've got focus, there's no visual indication
(which would be nice too).

I love how you can press Ctrl-L to reliably get to the location bar. There
should be another simple shortcut that gives the main window focus. It
should *not* focus on a form field but on the page itself. Focusing on the
first form field is a separate operation; it would mean anytime the page
has a form field (which is often) I'd still be stuck with clicking.

Thanks for your work on free software.

Cheers,
Matthew.

This bug was reported against a version which is not supported any more. Developers are no longer working on this version so there will not be any bug fixes for it.
Can you please check again if the issue you reported here still happens in a recent version of GNOME and update this report by adding a comment and adjusting the 'Version' field?

Again thank you for reporting this and sorry that it could not be fixed for the version you originally used here.

Without feedback this report will be closed as INCOMPLETE after 6 weeks.
