Description of the crash:
most panel functions fail  ( right clicking )    visibility of my second
panel fails and remains blank.
menus dont work launchers are not displayed

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. start gnome
2. load panel
3. 

Expected Results:


How often does this happen?

It first happend a few minutes ago.  i restarted the machine entirely  
but the error remains .   

Restarting the gnome-panel proccess earlier didnt fix the problem.

it now happens every time i restart

Additional Information:


i run 2 panels stacked on top of eachother .  both are expanded to fit
the width of my desktop and one ( the top one )  has autohide buttons  (
that no longer work)
all of the launcher icons on the top panel are no longer visible 


failed panel features
- right clicking
- the clock does not respond when clicked and the time stands still
the gnome menu ( on the lower panel) does not respond  but is visible
no elements on the above panel are visible ( the left hide button has
not properly drawn the button and appears clear)



working panel features 
- disk mounter still works
- desktop switcher still works
