GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 122887
No way to unhide panels
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Panels that are hidden using hide buttons disappead for good with out a way to show them again. But they somewhat occupy their previous space because i'm unable to move new panel into the same place where the hidden one was. Maximized windows cover hidden panels though. Doing killall gnome-panel or logging out and in againg makes all hidden panels appear again. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable hide buttons in panel's properties 2. Click one of them 3. Create new panel and try to move it where the hidden one was 4. killall gnome-panel
Yes, I can see that to. That's pretty annoying.
Have the same problem. Not only with hide buttons but generally, when I set panel to autohide it hides for good. I can't see a pixel of it so there is no area for unhiding.
Thanks for the bug report. This problem seems to be fixed in the lastest release. Please upgrade to the latest GNOME 2.4, using packages for your distribution, and feel free to re-open this bug if the problem persists.
