Description Björn Svensson 2003-09-18 06:49:33 UTC
Add an option to the clock applet, so that the week number is displayed.
Even better; if the clock applet's output could be controlled by a format
string, such as the one used in 'date'. E.g. "%V" shows the week number.
Comment 1 Vincent Untz 2003-09-22 12:44:23 UTC
Would it be enough if the week number appears in the calendar ? (see
bug #98711)

NEEDINFO until the reporter answers...
Comment 3 Björn Svensson 2003-11-26 13:23:06 UTC
It's better than the way it is now, but making the weeknumber appear
in the clock-applet AND the calendar would be really great!

An example, tell the clock-applet to parse and show
"w%V %a %y-%m-%d %H:%M" as supported by GNU date.

(Sorry for the late answer...)
Comment 4 Vincent Untz 2003-11-26 16:00:09 UTC
Ok, I'm reopening and changing the summary.
Comment 5 Vincent Untz 2004-01-07 00:58:06 UTC
Fix in HEAD:
2004-01-07 Vincent Untz <vincent@vuntz.net>

Add a "custom" format: the user can specify a custom format in gconf
to be used by the clock. UI-wise, the preferences dialog show the
"custom" stuff only if it's used: it doesn't change anything for
	normal users.
	Fix bug #122601.

You'll be able to use the custom_format gconf key to do this in GNOME 2.6.

Vincent,

Since this patch was applied, my clock applet's length keeps
increasing. I'll attach a screenshot to clarify.

Hrm...
I'm not at home right now so I can't do anything right now and I can't
test it.
I did not see this happen, though. When does the size increase?
Comment 9 Vincent Untz 2004-02-20 17:05:48 UTC
Dennis: does it still happen? I can't see this here.
Comment 10 Dennis Cranston 2004-02-20 17:38:49 UTC
Oh, sorry.
No it doesn't happen anymore.
