Description of Problem:
system monitor crashes when you switch to Active Tasks and click on list
of tasks.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. if I remember correctly... system monitor has been running minimized
for a few hours.
2. restore system monitor window.
3. switch to active tasks (it was previously on the default selection).
4. click on task list area. try to minimize. crash. (? not sure of exact
steps here?)

Actual Results:
crash

Expected Results:
continue running.

first time in three weeks.
